ON ATTACKS AND PRESSURE AGAINST HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS
The Solidarity for the Rights of All Network presents Newsletter # 8 on attacks and pressure against activists. The team documents attacks and pressures on the Incident Map through research of publicly available information and interviews with the victims. Since the beginning of 2022, 13 attacks and pressures have been registered, both on those who protect human rights and those who found themselves in that role due to their actions and suffered consequences. The Solidarity for the Rights of All Network is led by the Lawyers’ Committee for Human Rights – YUCOM, Belgrade Center for Security Policy, and the People’s Parliament.

False bomb report at the festival “Mirdita, good afternoon!” more… |

| The opening of the festival “Mirdita, good day!” at the Center for Cultural Decontamination (CKZD) was briefly interrupted on May 25, 2022, after a report of a planted bomb. After the inspection of the CZKD premises, the police determined this was a false alarm, and the event continued. A small group of citizens gathered before the CZKD to protest against the festival. During the traditional cultural exchange festival between Kosovo and Serbia, attacks and pressures are common to ban or interrupt the festival. On May 24, 2022, the coalition Nada, consisting of DSS and POKS, demanded a ban on the festival, stating that it harms Serbia’s interest and promotes Kosovo’s independence.
