ON ATTACKS AND PRESSURE AGAINST HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS IN SERBIA
The Solidarity for the Rights of All Network presents the Newsletter # 4 on attacks and pressure against activists. The team documents attacks and pressures on the Incident Map through research of publicly available information and interviews with the victims. More than 130 attacks and pressures were registered on the Map so far, both against those who deal with the protection of human rights, as well as those who found themselves in that role due to their actions and suffered consequences. The Solidarity for the Rights of All Network is led by the Lawyers’ Committee for Human Rights – YUCOM, Belgrade Center for Security Policy and the People’s Parliament. During May and June 2021, as many as 10 attacks and pressures on human rights defenders in Serbia were registered.

The lawsuit against the activists of Don’t Let Belgrade D(r)own |

| Dobrica Veselinović, an activist of Don’t Let Belgrade D(r)own initiative, was sued by the Millennium team for damaging the company’s reputation and trademark in the amount of 100,000 euros. This is the second lawsuit of this construction company against DLBD activists and it came after Dobrica Veselinović spoke about the first lawsuit as a guest on TV N1. The first lawsuit of the Millennium Team in the amount of 12 million dinars (around 100,000 euros) refers to the publication of allegations about the amendment of the Urban Plan which enables that company “to demolish the research and development Goša Institute and build a residential and business complex on the same place”. A reply to the lawsuit is being prepared. | |
