Project Title: Local Civil Society Organization for developing and promoting a concept of modern day care service for elementary schools

About the project: The overall objective of this project is to develop and to promote a concept of modern day care service for elementary schools, in aim to encourage equal opportunities and affirmative action for woman, and also to address the need to improve economic status of women, reduce discrimination at work towards them and therefore create the practice of equal opportunities and economic equality among genders.
Implementation of the project includes the development of a detailed methodology, analysis of the legal framework, the cost-benefit analysis, conducting a large number of expert interviews with School representatives, School Administration, representatives of the Local Governments as well as with representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, along with other relevant experts.
It is planned to organize focus groups with participation of both parents of children who use day care service and parents whose children are not beneficiaries of this service. In addition, it is planned to conduct debates where it would be discussed about the achieved results, in order to find the best solution to the concept of day care for children in primary schools in Serbia.
In aim to define the need for day care service in Serbia and for the purpose of territorial coverage, as samples were taken all primary schools in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Nis and Zajecar, including those elementary schools that provide day care service and those that do not provide such services. All schools were sent Requests for access to public information, in order to collect relevant data for processing, but all other activities will be conducted in one elementary school in each of the five mentioned cities. The chosen schools will be those that will be pointed out as representative by the School Administration in the territory of particular city.
