Project Title: Amending the Constitution
Project Activities: The Committee of Lawyers for Human Rights – YUCOM, with the support of the OSCE Mission in Serbia, is undertaking the project with the title ‘Amending the Constitution’. The aim of the project is to improve the knowledge of students and journalists on amendments to the Constitution, as well as to commence a discussion on the subject with the goal of collecting information and opinions from the wider public. The project envisions the holding of 6 round table discussions in six cities from across the Republic of Serbia, specifically in Novi Pazar, Bujanovac, Niš, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Belgrade. One of the activities on the project will be a writing contest on the topic of ‘Amending the Constitution’, from which several top entries will published on the YUCOM and My Constitution websites, with the best work being awarded a one-month internship at YUCOM, where the student will be able to improve their knowledge on the aforementioned subject and contribute to the work of YUCOM.
The realization of the project includes the relaunch of the My Constitution website that contains a large amount of data on the aforementioned subject, and that is also interactive and allows visitors to post comments and contribute to the discussion and targeting of omissions and deficiencies that the 2006 Constitution contains.
