The third field training session for the improvement of the free legal aid system in the Republic of Serbia took place on Monday, June 19th, starting at 10:00 a.m., in the small hall of the Officers’ Club (Orlovića Pavla 28a) in Niš. Persons invited to attend this type of training were graduate lawyers employed in the local self-government units of Niš and surrounding cities and municipalities, as well as authorized personnel responsible for deciding on applications for free legal aid, and employees in the budget and finance departments.

The field training sessions are intended to contribute to the improvement of the free legal aid system and the opportunities for every citizen, especially those from the most vulnerable social groups, to exercise their right to access justice and legal protection. The training is particularly significant for building the capacity of new free legal aid services, improving decision-making on citizens’ requests, and enhancing the planning of financial resources for free legal aid services.

The training was attended by employees from the municipalities/cities of Aleksinac, Blace, Doljevac, Knjaževac, Kuršumlija, Babušnica, Niš, Pirot, GO Palilula, and Zaječar.
