15 years of implementation of the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination – practice and challenges

The  Lawyers’ Committee for Human Rights – YUCOM would like to invite you to the conference in regard to “15 years of implementation of the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination – Practice and Challenges” on March 15, 2024 at 11AM at the Great Hall of the Media Center, Terazije 3, Belgrade.

The Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination, adopted in 2009 and amended in 2021, prompts us to reflect on the past 15 years and evaluate the judicial practices surrounding its application. Have international standards for protection against discrimination been effectively integrated into our legal system, and does the prohibition of discrimination in our society receive the attention it deserves? Additionally, we will explore whether minority groups have been adequately protected. Prominent experts in the field of protection against discrimination will address these and other aspects of the issue during the conference.
