Round table-Towards the Constitutional Changes

Lawyers’ Committee for Human Rights – YUCOM has the pleasure of inviting you to the round table Towards the Constitutional Changes which we are organizing with the support of the Embassy of Germany in Belgrade as part of the Effective Approach to the Justice in Serbia project. The round table will be held on Wednesday, 21st February 2018, at 9.30 a.m., at Human Rights House, Kneza Milosa 4 Street.
Ministry of Justice published the Draft amendment to the Constitution of Republic of Serbia at the end of January, right before the public discussion on changing the Constitution. Civil society organization and professional associations have found the proposed amendments disputable in context of independence and autonomy of judiciary. On the other hand, the public discussion has not been arranged in accordance to the rules, so the round table should provide the platform for explaining to the citizens and media representatives the problems that could arise in case the amendments are adopted in this form.
