Citizens’ trust in the judiciary is built through open communication. Our project established a dialogue between citizens and the judiciary. During the Covid-19 pandemic, judges and prosecutors spoke publicly about the rights and processes that citizens are most interested in at this difficult time. So far, over 20 online local council meetings have been held.
The main goal of this project is to educate key beneficiaries on issues and challenges surrounding freedom of expression and privacy protection on the internet in Serbia and to empower them by building their capacities for advocating and achieving the aforementioned rights
DRIM’s objective is to enhance the capacity of public institutions for promoting migrants’ economic integration, understood as fair access to employment, work and skills enhancement. The improved capacity of public institutions to respond to the needs of newly arrived as well as resident migrants through effective information sharing.
National Convention on the European Union (NCEU) in Serbia was founded by 17 eminent civil society organizations which are on the initiative and invitation of the European Movement in Serbia took over the coordination of the twenty-one Working group to follow the theme of all 35 negotiating chapters. Two years after the establishment of NCEU, more than 700 organizations (NGOs, coalitions, 19 faculties, 12 institutes, 24 professional associations, 11 trade unions, 3 business associations) actively participate in its work.
The proposed project will complement national policy process, a clearly outlined set of recommendations accompanied by the in depth analysis of implementation gaps will give the necessary impetus for relevant authorities to act and to provide the human rights groups with and adequate advocacy platform.
The overall object of the Action: the project’s overall objective is to reduce the level of homophobic, transphobic and discriminatory attitudes and behavior, through the sterile juxtapositions stereotypes and prejudices against LGBT population in Serbia.
One of the main aims of this project is to determine and evaluate the progress Serbia has made in the field of fundamental human rights by implementing the Action Plan for Chapter 23.
The overall object of the Action: Overall objective of this project is to enable citizens to have better access to justice with lower costs for citizens, as well as for the system through expanding the possibility for self-representation before the court.
The overall object of the Action: the objectives of the action are to contribute to the advancement of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law in Serbia. More specifically, the objectives are to contribute to the full enjoyment of the rights envisaged in the Constitution of Serbia and expected Law on Free Legal Aid, to promote free legal aid among general population, to exchange experiences from providing free legal aid, and to develop capacities of future providers of free legal aid.
This consultation was an opportunity for legal professionals to provide the Special Rapporteur with information about the threats and risk faced by lawyers in Eastern Europe, North Caucasus and Central Asia.
