At a meeting today with Ms Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, civil society representatives from the National Convention on the European Union opened the topics of European integration, rule of law, security, media rights, regional relations and common foreign policy of Serbia and the EU, with the active role of civil society in the negotiation process with the EU.
The messages conveyed at the meeting were about the necessity of stronger support for rule of law and democracy in Serbia, as well as about the concrete positive changes that citizens can expect with the further harmonization with European values in the field of human rights, as well as in the economy.
Civil society organizations suggested the active involvement of Serbia on the European level in the talks about the future of the European Union, as well as the challenges that face it, primarily the migration crisis and security.
The meeting was attended by Maja Bobić from the European Movement in Serbia, Nataša Dragojlović, coordinator of the National Convention on the EU, Zoran Sekulić from the Association of Media, Milan Antonijević from YUCOM, Sonja Stojanović Gajić from the Belgrade Center for Security Policy and Igor Novaković from ISAC.
