Lawyers’ Committee for Human Rights has a pleasure to invite you to the regional conference on „Freedom of Assembly in the Western Balkans“. The conference will take place at the conference room of Hotel Park – Njegoseva 2 Street, Belgrade – on January 25, 2016, starting at 10:30 AM.
The event aims to present the ODIHR and Council of Europe’s Venice Commission Guidelines on Freedom of Peaceful Assembly to relevant NGOs in the Western Balkans and raise awareness about the need of ensuring the implementation of the act regulating freedom of assembly in accordance to the guidelines. Participants will jointly develop recommendations for the improvement of the legislative framework in accordance with the OSCE standards. It will also provide the forum for exchange of good practices and discussion on challenges that human rights defenders face in implementation and protection of freedom of assembly, as well as the practical measures that can be taken to address those challenges.
The conference will gather participants from civil society organizations and human rights activists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia.Simultaneous English and Bosnian/Croatian/Montenegrin/Serbian translation will be provided.
